Scheduled Specification Changes
Changes to the output specifications for animation keys are scheduled for the next release.
These specification changes are based on opinions gathered from developers using the plug-ins and are intended to make them easier to use.
Please be aware of this in advance.
- Specifications will change so that if a key is hit it will definitely be output in the case of visibility animations included in a cmdla file.
(In the past, keys were not output if their value did not change.)
- Plans call for allowing the use of old exporters through the specification of a separate environment variable.
Added or modified functionality
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where meshes were not being displayed if the visibility at the start of the animation was OFF and Bind By Name was specified for the Mesh Visibility Mode of the Export plug-in.
- Fixed a bug where the correct animation would not result to due lack of precision when when a large value was set for an animation key.
- Fixed a bug where the filter did not work on the file selection dialog in Maya 2011 and beyond.
- Fixed a bug where an error would occur if the Merge cmdl File option was turned ON even if cmdl files were not being output.
- Fixed a bug where animation were not being output if Cull Useless Node, Unite Compressible Node, or Unite All Node was specified for the Compress Node option when outputting only cskla files, without outputting cmdl files.
- Fixed a bug where models with part of their shape broken off were output due to failed optimization of skinning data under certain conditions.
- Changed the link for the Help menu used with the Plug-in for Setting User Data (NW4C Set User Data).

Known Issues

In the merge process, if the merge-source
cmdl file (as specified by Merge cmdl) contains non-model reference data (like textures and lookup tables), then the merge-result cmdl file will not be created properly.
When this is the case, the exporter will create the temporary file merge_cmdl$XXX.cmdl (where XXX is the merge-source filename) in the save-to folder.

- For skin meshes, nodes would be compressed even if Don't compress this node was set. That problem has been fixed.
- The names for specular and other lookup table sets overlapped with the names for light-containing lookup table sets. That problem was corrected.
- If a CMDL file containing double-byte characters in its path was specified for merging, the merge process did not work correctly. That problem was corrected.
- If the Windows user name contained double-byte characters the optimization process would not execute. That problem was fixed.
- When a mesh with more than 65,535 vertices is exported an error is now generated.
- The merge process would fail when the name of the merge source file as specified by the
Merge cmdl File option was the same as the name of the export file. That problem was fixed.
