14
Role of the Project Tree

15
The Project Tree is where sound sets are registered to Sound Projects.
16

17
Select a node in the sound set to show its list in the tab pane.

18
Structure of Sound Projects

19
It is possible to register more than one sound set with a given Sound Project.
Bank files can also be registered in the sound sets, as can waveform files and standard MIDI files for use as sound resources.

20
It is also possible to use the Bank tab to open and edit bank files that haven't yet been registered in the Sound Project.
21
22 Two different types of bank files can appear within SoundMaker: (1) registered bank files that are subject to conversion, and (2) unregistered bank files that will not be converted, even if they're open in the application.
Within this documentation, we use the word "project" to refer to the former type, namely those files that are subject to conversion. Likewise, we use the term "workspace" to refer to all files displayed within SoundMaker, including any unregistered files that may be open.

23
For more information about how to load bank files that are not registered in a project, see Loading Bank Files from Outside the Project.
