12
What is UIC-MIDI?

13
14
PARTNER-CTR UIC-MIDI

15
PARTNER-CTR UIC-MIDI (henceforth referred to as simply UIC-MIDI) is the interface for communications between a PC and a test unit and other CTR development hardware via USB connections. The device also has a MIDI-IN terminal for connection of MIDI devices.

16
It comes with a built-in flash card with the same memory capacity as a 16 Gbit CTR Flash Card.

17

18
CCI files can be written to this flash card and executed on test units and other CRT development hardware.

19
The device does not have a built-in CTR Sub-card, but you can open the case and install one

20

21

22
Note: For details, see the setup manual that comes bundled with the UIC-MIDI.

23

24
UIC-MIDI can be used for the following purposes:

25

26
For MIDI previewing in combination with the PARTNER-CTR Debugger or the CaptureDebugger.

27
For MIDI previewing and sound previewing in combination with a CTR test unit.

28

29
By combining the UIC-MIDI with a CTR test unit, you can prepare various preview playback environments for sounds without using PARTNER-CTR Debugger (CaptureDebugger).

30
31
How to use the UIC-MIDI

32
33
Preparation

34
To use the UIC-MIDI, first install the PARTNER-CTR UIC-MIDI USB driver. (Refer to the PARTNER-CTR UIC-MIDI setup manual.)

35
36
MIDI preview playback using PARTNER-CTR Debugger and UIC-MIDI

37

38
Provide a power supply to the UIC-MIDI by attaching an AC adapter or a USB cable connected to a PC

39
Attach a MIDI cable to the UIC-MIDI that can connect to MIDI devices.

40
Connect the UIC-MIDI to a PARTNER-CTR Debugger or a CaptureDebugger.

41
Use the PARTNER-CTR software to load and execute
SoundPlayer-TS.cci
.

42
Display the Preview Bank screen and load the pertinent banks.

43
Send a Note-On signal with the MIDI device and confirm that the loaded banks can play.

44

45
46
MIDI preview playback using a CTR test unit and UIC-MIDI

47

48
Write
SoundPlayer-TS.cci
to the UIC-MIDI.
49

50
You can write using PARTNER-CTR Debugger / CaptureDebugger just like you would to a normal CTR flash card.

51
To write to the UIC-MIDI you need to provide a power supply by attaching an AC adapter or a USB cable connected to a PC.

52

53

54
Attach a MIDI cable to the UIC-MIDI that can connect to MIDI devices.

55
Attach the AC adapter to the UIC-MIDI (for power supply).

56
Attach the UIC-MIDI to the CTR test unit.

57
Display the Preview Bank screen and load the pertinent banks.

58
Send a Note-On signal with the MIDI device and confirm that the loaded banks can play.

59

60
61
Sound preview playback using a CTR test unit and UIC-MIDI

62

63
Write
HioSoundPlayer.cci
to the UIC-MIDI.

64
Attach the UIC-MIDI to a USB cable connected to a PC.

65
Attach the AC adapter to the UIC-MIDI (for power supply).

66
Attach the UIC-MIDI to the CTR test unit.

67
Use PARTNER-CTR Debugger or CaptureDebugger to check that you can play sounds and load sound archives, operating them just like HioSoundPlayer.

68
