15
What is the Initial Settings File?

16

17When SoundMaker stats for the firms time, it creates a file named
NW4C_SoundMaker.xml
in the
%NW4C_ROOT%\tools\SoundMaker
folder.
This file is called the Initial Settings file.
18

19
20
Role of the Initial Settings File

21

22SoundMaker saves information such as various operational settings in this initial settings file.
For example, information about previously opened project files is saved in the initial settings file, so these same project files can be opened later by selecting File > Recent Projects.
23

24
25

26When completely deleting the initial settings file or when there is no initial settings file at startup, SoundMaker creates a new initial settings file. All settings are restored to their initial values.

We recommend making a backup of the initial settings file before re-installing.
