11
About Instrument Parameters

12

13This section describes the types of instrument parameters available and associated concepts.
14

15
Instrument Parameters and Region Parameters

16
The SoundMaker's Bank tab is divided internally into parameters for instruments (shared by all regions) and region-specific parameters.
17

18

19The former are called instrument parameters, while the latter are called region parameters.
20

21
22
Using Various Parameters

23
This section looks at the various parameters that are set in the Bank tab and describes in each case whether they are handled as instrument parameters or region parameters.
24

25
Envelope

26

27Can be configured as either an instrument parameter or a region parameter.
28

29

30It is possible to select whether the envelope value is to be treated as an instrument parameter (configured at the instrument level) or as a region parameter (configured at the region level) for each instrument.
Although the envelope is normally handled as an instrument parameter, it is possible to configure an envelope value separately at the region level by configuring a region parameter envelope for a multi-region instrument.
For information on configuring an application target, see Selecting an Envelope Application Target.

31
The current envelope application target can be found by displaying the envelope on the Instrument List.
Instrument List displays for which a numeric value is displayed have envelopes applied at the instrument level, and those that have an asterisk displayed have envelopes applied at the region level.
32

33

34It is not possible to simultaneously configure an instrument parameter and region parameter envelope for a single instrument.
35

36
37
Pan

38

39Handled as a region parameter and always specified in units of regions.
40

41
42
Volume

43

44Can be configured independently as both an instrument parameter and a region parameter.
45

46
47
Pitch

48

49Can be configured independently as both an instrument parameter and a region parameter.
