Setup

This section describes the setup procedure for using 3DEditor in the content-creation environment.

This is only a simple setup guide for tool users, and cannot be used to build programs.

Prepare the CTR Development Environment

PARTNER-CTR Debugger

Connect a PARTNER-CTR Debugger unit to your PC.

Refer to the Setup Manual included with the PARTNER-CTR Debugger for detailed connection information.

NintendoWare for CTR (3DEditor)

Download the NintendoWare package and extract it to install in a convenient location on your system.

The package does not include an installer, so it is installed to the location to which it is extracted.

Set the Environment Variable

NintendoWare has a WSF file for the setting the environment variable.

NintendoWare/CTR/setup.wsf

Double-click on setup.wsf to automatically create the NW4C_ROOT environment variable and configure the path to the CTR folder.

Note: If you are manually configuring the environment variable, set the NW4C_ROOT variable to the path to the CTR folder where NintendoWare was installed.

PARTNER-CTR Debugger Software / CTR-SDK

Install the PARTNER-CTR debugger software according to the documentation that came with the CTR-SDK.

Microsoft .NET framework 4.0 Full version

Run the downloaded installer and follow the instructions to install.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)

3DCG Tool Plug-in Settings

The 3DCG Tool Plug-ins are a group of plug-ins provided by NintendoWare for exporting your created data in the form of intermediate files.

The environment variable setting will differ depending on which version of the tool and which operating system you are using.

For more information, see the manuals for the various tool plug-ins, which can be found at the following location:
