System Preview Tools

Using SoundPlayer / HioSoundPlayer / Viewer

The three following system tools can be used to preview sounds on actual hardware:

The characteristics of each are explained below.

SoundPlayer

The CCI file includes a sound archive file and a stream file.

Sounds can be previewed on a test unit alone.

Since every time the sound archive file or the stream file is changed you need to remake the CCI file, this is unsuited for repeated adjusting and checking.

HioSoundPlayer

The CCI file does not include a sound archive file or a stream file.

The sound archive and stream file is supplied from the PC via HOSTIO.

The connection configuration can be [PC ~ PARTNER-CTR Debugger] or [PC ~ UIC-MIDI ~ PARTNER-CTR Debugger] or [PC ~ UIC-MIDI ~ test unit].

You need some device like a PC, a PARTNER-CTR Debugger or a UIC-MIDI device.

Sound archives converted by SoundMaker can be loaded and checked without restarting the HioSoundPlayer application.

Viewer

The CCI file does not include a sound archive file or a stream file.

The sound archive and stream file is supplied from the PC via HOSTIO.

The connection configuration can be [PC ~ PARTNER-CTR Debugger] or [PC ~ UIC-MIDI ~ PARTNER-CTR Debugger] or [PC ~ UIC-MIDI ~ test unit].

You need some device like a PC, a PARTNER-CTR Debugger or a UIC-MIDI device.

Sound archives converted by SoundMaker can be loaded and checked without restarting the Viewer application.

You can view and manipulate a variety of sound-related information, which sets Viewer apart from SoundPlayer and HioSoundPlayer.
