Follow the procedure given below when manually installing the plug-in.
Exit Softimage if it is currently running.
Copy the following plug-in files (which are included in the package) to: [Softimage folder location]/Application/Plugins.
Be sure to use a version of NW4C_Export.dle that matches the version of Softimage that you are using.
Start Softimage.
If NW4C has been added to the Softimage menu, the installation is complete.
To update the plug-in, use the same installation procedure to overwrite the older versions of the plug-in files with the newer versions.
3DEditor (Creative Studio) must be installed in order to use the merge and optimization operations of the Export plug-in because these processes are linked to 3DEditor (Creative Studio).
(Optimization and Merge menu features included in 3DEditor (Creative Studio) are called inside the exporter.)
To uninstall the plug-in, delete the installed files after performing a normal termination of Softimage.
If an error related to installation or uninstallation occurs, it is displayed by Script Editor and on the status line at the bottom of the Softimage screen. Errors you should be particularly aware of are described here.
This error may be displayed when installing the plug-in or running it for the first time after installation. This error message is output because DLL dependency relationships cannot be configured due to the environment. The plug-in will function without problems once Softimage is restarted.
The name of the custom parameter set (custom property) is used in place of XXX.
This error may appear when installing or uninstalling the plug-in or when loading a scene. This error message is output when a scene that includes NW4C_XXX properties is loaded without the Export plug-in installed. Check if the Export plug-in has been installed.
