Initial Settings File

What is the Initial Settings File?

SoundMaker creates a file having the name NW4C_SoundMaker.xml in the $tools/SoundMaker folder when it is first launched.
This file is called the initial settings file.

Role of the Initial Settings File

SoundMaker saves information such as various operational settings in this initial settings file.
For example, information for previously opened project files is saved in the initial settings file. These same files can then be opened later by selecting File > Recently used projects.

When completely deleting the initial settings file or when there is no initial settings file at startup, SoundMaker creates a new initial settings file. All settings are restored to their initial values.

We recommend making a backup of the initial settings file before re-installing.
