If successful, returns a string pointer to the software name. However, even if successful the function will return NULL if the number of characters (excluding the terminating ") is 0. Returns NULL on failure.

Gets a string pointer to the software name string of the image that was either decoded or whose EXIF information was extracted immediately previous to this call.

If that previous operation failed, this function also fails. This function needs the image data to get the information. So do not destroy the image data.
This information is the information registered in the IFD0 Software tag.

This function fails if the string is not 0-terminated. Use the GetLastSoftwareLength function to get the number of characters in the string.
